Eset Security Review
For the money ESET’s suite of products is one of the top. Its malware detection rate is almost perfect and it packs a good range of extra features in a small footprint. Premium versions include parental controls, a secure web browser, and a password manager as well as the Android package includes an anti-theft feature that can help locate your missing phone. The network protection features are as well, with an option to block access to your network and to check your home devices for security issues.
A particular standout is SysInspector, a handy tool that takes a snapshot of your system and highlights running processes, important Registry entries, as well as other information. It’s a bit daunting for beginners however if you’re used to more advanced task managers such as those in the Sysinternals process explorer, you’ll feel right at right at home.
Another great feature is the ability to schedule scans on demand. This is a great alternative to real-time security and it’s quick and easy to use. It’s a shame ESET does not include it in the same category as other scheduling functions and its UI makes it more difficult to find than some of their competitors.
The password manager is easy to use and has lots of features. It’s a powerful form filler that can be used for online banking. The click to find out more password manager is only available in the premium version and requires an ESET account, but it’s as efficient as most standalone solutions I’ve tried.
